From 7c3e7d65355db41ab848c97383b9e996910acd75 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Thomas Adam Date: Thu, 3 Oct 2013 22:31:26 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Add subdir-objects to shut automake up automake 1.14 onwards has started emitting lots of warnings about this option: automake: warning: possible forward-incompatibility. automake: At least a source file is in a subdirectory, but the 'subdir-objects' automake: automake option hasn't been enabled. For now, the corresponding output automake: object file(s) will be placed in the top-level directory. However, automake: this behaviour will change in future Automake versions: they will automake: unconditionally cause object files to be placed in the same subdirectory automake: of the corresponding sources. automake: You are advised to start using 'subdir-objects' option throughout your automake: project, to avoid future incompatibilities. So enable this in AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE. This doesn't seem to break older automake versions. --- configure.ac | 2 +- 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/configure.ac b/configure.ac index 10588335..ceb37db8 100644 --- a/configure.ac +++ b/configure.ac @@ -4,7 +4,7 @@ AC_INIT(tmux, 1.9) AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIR(etc) -AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE([foreign]) +AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE([foreign subdir-objects]) AC_CANONICAL_HOST
